Brandon Shores, Maryland – Troy Horsly is currently assisting Bowen Engineering with a large project near Baltimore, Maryland and forwarded a photo of the project site.
Bowen is installing a new water treatment facility at the plant that is owned by Constellation Power Source (formerly BGE).

The new water treatment upgrade will serve the facility's two identical units, each having a a capacity of 690 MegaWatts. Unit 1 has been online since 1984 at the 375 acre facility.
The plant underwent a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) in 1999 at cost of $100 million that enabled the facility to reduce its NOx emissions by 90%.
The Brandon Shores facility burns 250 tons of coal per hour (5,000 to 6,000 tons per day typically). All the coal is received by barge and there is normally a 30 day supply on hand (300,000 tons). The facility utilizes low sulfur coal.
Special thanks to Troy for forwarding the photo.
