Fulford Earns CHST Designation

Jasonville, Indiana -- Kim Fulford recently completed requirement for her Construction Safety and Health Technician (CHST) certification, becoming the most recent Safety Management Group Associate to earn the distinction.

Kim earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Safety Management from Indiana University and is an OSHA Outreach Trainer. She earned her Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) certification in March 2010.

Kim has performed the role of ironworker for several contracting firms throughout the Midwest including Raytheon Polar Services (at projects in the South Pole) and Hamon Custodis, a firm specializing in chimney project for the power generation industry. She has assisted clients of Safety Management Group’s staffing team since June 2008.

As a safety professional, Kim has assisted on powerhouse projects (Freitag Weinhardt) and wind energy construction projects (D.H. Blattner & Sons, Inc.), as well as an extended internship with Roger’s Group assisting with MSHA-related initiatives.

The CHST certification program began in 1992 and is administered by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals. Candidates qualify through a flexible combination of part-time or full-time safety, health, and construction experience in addition to education and training. The four-hour, 200-item examination is available every business day throughout the U.S. and Canada.

The CHST is specified in U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) construction contracts.
