James Kriner Memorial Fund Recap

Anderson, Indiana -- Betty Swartz, Controller of Safety Management Group reported this week that on June 29, Melissa Kriner received over $7,000 donated by Safety Management Group, company associates, and friends of Jim Kriner who contributed to the memorial fund.
Jim died on June 19, leaving behind a wife and three children. He joined Safety Management Group in February 2005 and served as a site safety advisor for the Owner Services Group. He assisted contractors providing services to Eli Lilly and Company's Corporate Center in downtown Indianapolis and beginning last Fall assisted contractors at the Lilly Technology Center.
Prior to working with Safety Management Group, Jim served as the Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator for Stanley Works subsidiary Best Access Systems (BEST) in Indianapolis.
Jim was a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) since 1991. He served two terms as the President of the Central Indiana Chapter of ASSE. He also managed the chapter's newsletter and web site, has served on the ASSE Regional Operating Committee, and was a Delegate for the Central Indiana Chapter.
In 2002, Jim was elected as Deputy Regional Vice President for ASSE's Region VII. For the 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 chapter years the Central Indiana Chapter was recognized as the best chapter in Region VII.
