MICCS Revamps Certification Program
3/2/2006
Indianapolis -- It is with great pleasure to
announce that the MICCS Certification Program has been totally
re-vamped and re-launched this morning. You can access it by
going to going to the MICCS web site certification
page and clicking the Certification logo or the noted
link. Alternatively, the direct link to the new web site can
be accessed by clicking here.
The benefits of the new
system are many. To name a few:
You will be informed
of every action that you need to take via system-generated
emails. These will provide clear instructions as to your
options and how to perform them.
You will complete the
'Safety Program Review Scoresheet' (or revise it in the case
of renewing with change or resubmissions) online, and you will
be able to 'save and continue': you will not need to do any
part of this system in one sitting. You will no longer have to
download the 57-page safety program review scoresheet and
write on it!
The new system is much more 'intuitive'
and has pop-ups that explain further any area that is
particularly important so that you can be more certain that
decisions you make are best for your company.
Companies that decide not to allow other contractors
to view their company record will still be listed on the
status page: however, their links will be active only for the
MICCS administrators and owners (construction consumers) who
are using the system. Remember, however, that contractors also
use the system to prequalify: if you do not allow them access,
then they will be unable to use the system for this purpose
regarding your company.
Should the system function as
anticipated, there is a substantial possibility that the cost
of administering the program will be greatly reduced. If this
occurs, your Board of Directors could, within a time frame
that might allow us to recapture the lost reserves, decide to
re-invest the savings toward greater industry/member service
or reduce the costs of participating in the
program.
Of great importance to all participants:
Due to the high level of security needed regarding your
passwords, the system administrator could not retain your
current password. Therefore, your new password is identical to
your user name. If you would like to change your
password:
1. Login using your user name as both your
user name and your password
2. Select the link,
'Company profile.' There will be a section showing your user
name and password: you can change either one or both, then hit
'submit.' Please be sure to save this in a place that you will
be able to retrieve, though in the new system, retrieving and
resetting your user name and password is much easier than in
the old.
3. At the top of the same company profile is
the contact and other information that are now in the system:
the new system is even more reliant than the old on
system-generated emails: please be sure that the person that
should receive emails about this program is a one that
routinely and reliably resolves their emails. In addition,
please be sure that all of the information is still
accurate.
All participants in the program will receive
an email shortly regarding these matters.
Many people
have worked very hard to dramatically improve the program.
Certification Committee Chairman Paul Lee of Eli Lilly and
Company has devoted hundreds of volunteer hours - including
many late nights - to help staff and our IT consultants. In
addition, Safety Management Group's Jesse Brazzell has been
of extraordinary help: thanks to him and his employers at
Safety Management Group. The Certification Committee deserves
our thanks, too:
Donnie Reed, Clarian Health
Services Greg Gossett, ERMCO Jim Garber, Lauth Property
Group John Lindenschmidt, Risk Management Services
