Elmhurst, Illinois – Safety Management Group Safety Advisor Jason Hyer is assisting client at a 50-acre healthcare campus construction project in Elmhurst, Illinois. Hyer is assisting the firm responsible for erecting steel at the Elmhurst Memorial Healthcare project.
The 866,000 square foot facility under construction at the site will encompass 259 private-room beds and fifteen operating rooms. The complex will also include a State-of-the-Art Emergency Department as well as retail space and guest rooms for patients’ families.
Hyer works closely with client contacts and the construction management firm responsible for the project to ensure safety rules applicable to the project are being interpreted and implemented effectively. The firm will place nearly 11,000 pieces of structural steel on the project.
To date, there have been no lost time incidents and two first aids for the steel erector on the project that broke ground in May, 2008. The project is anticipated to be completed in 2011.
