Indianapolis, November 10, 2009 – Safety Management Group, one of the largest independent safety consulting firms in the United States, was named a semi-finalist in the Indiana Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business of the Year competition.

The program, sponsored by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, recognizes Hoosier companies that demonstrate best practices in business sustainability and growth, commitment to employees and a track record of community involvement.
The award is open to all Hoosier companies with 250 employees or fewer. Out-of-state parent companies are eligible to participate if at least 25 full-time employees are in Indiana.
Safety Management Group was recognized along with eleven other Indiana firms at the November 10, 2009, awards luncheon in Indianapolis. Semi finalists included Comunications Products, Inc., Envista, Flashpoint, The Mail Group, Omnitech Systems, Inc., Breman Casting, All American Direct, Taskforce Tips, Unified Group Services, and International Medical Group. Manufacturing Technology, Inc. was named the Small Business of the Year.
The Indiana Chamber of Commerce has been the state's largest broad-based business advocacy organization for over 85 years. The more than 5,000 member companies employ 800,000 Hoosier workers.
